do not pay any attention to the messy desk. Joystick being a lot easier to shovel things around In the end I mix between using mouse and joystick. The joystick is too high vs the keyboard. Not a wheel.Īlso the position isnt right for me using a normal flat desk. Maybe a big difference for me as I am using a keyboard + mouse and the joystick for any (front)loader and crane. I use the little thumb stick on top of the joystick (no idea how it is called) but when going from a mouse to that its a long time until it feels natural. When you get used to it your game will start looking like a "movie", especially when using the "outside view" of your vehicles. with some practice, you camera movement becomes super smooth (do not forget about the setting for camera speed). Super useful when operating the front loader!Īlso. This enables me to adjust the camera angle without letting go of the joystick. Look around, switch view, zoom and other functions for camera input that I get from using the "quick camera mod". I am using the trigger button as a "modifier" for everything related to the camera. This is possible as the game supports double command (even triple commands). There is an easy way to "clone" your joystick and use the axis for more things (like panning the camera around). I think most are using the joystick to control the front loader and some are still using the mouse to "look around". here is a tip for a "smooth" setting for camera controls. (edit: i mentioned in my last post about zoom in/out on the dpad. Not sure how many of yous are using a steering wheel + joystick for this game.Īnyways. just a few small changes and i was set, unlike last time. ![]() This time though, they did a good job and for the most part were really close to what i had come up with. just some junk no one actually tried to use. i had played farming sim 2013 with a controller as well and spent a fair bit of time binding things a certain way after a lot of testing as in the last version, pretty much there were no default bindings for a gamepad. These things of course aren't necessary but are personal preference. Other little things i put the store on LB+Start and the bank on LB+Select, and moved the info screen to select. I found their binding a pain so i moved it to Y to toggle on/off that's it.īy default it's LB+RB+X to toggle it on/off and to set the cruise speed higher or lower you push up/down with the left stick. to extend the pipe on the harvester is LB+Yįor camera controls the right stick moves the camera left/right/up/down and clicking the stick switches between inside/outside view, and dpad up and dpad down to zoom in and out. So like the horn is RB (right shoulder button) + A. they're like the shift button on your keyboard, it doesn't do anything until you press a second key at the same time. The shoulder buttons are used as a modifier, so if you're ever looking for controls, hold one and move some sticks or press additional buttons. by holding both shoulder buttons and using the right stick you open/close the claw and rotate the claw. you may choose something different than default, but by default holding the left shoulder button and moving the right stick will move the arm left/right/up/down, but if you hold the right shoulder button and move the right stick, it telescopes the crane arm in/out and controls the bend of the arm at the elbow up/down. Camera control using a gamepad is slower than using the mouse, but it's also more stable, so you can have a constant rate of rotation of your camera instead of a jerky move.įirst thing i did was to bind camera zoom in to D-pad UP and zoom out to D-pad DOWNĪs for the cranes, they are bound to your gamepad by default.
